Deliverance Christian Church started in a garage behind the Little Lambs preschool, owned by Pastor Milton Butler. The church moved to its present location, at 1420 N Fair Oaks Ave in 2002 and that in 2009 gave the pastorship to Bishop D.L Bush. These children in the Little Lambs preschool have grown up to be lawyers and play important roles in the community. Harry Washington was also an active member of NATHA- Neighbors Acting Together Helping All, providing very important service to the community. The church helped with the weekly Bible study at Rose Garden, a skilled nursing facility on N Raymond. At one point the church served breakfast twice a month and had a van that assisted with bread and other pantry ministry needs in the community.
Every Thanksgiving, the church takes orders and provides food for those in need. They invite nursing homes to participate. The fall harvest event invites the community to play games with food and bouncy houses.
